Aims2Cure

Aims2Cure is a registered charity established in 1999. Our aim is to fund research into finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and currently sponsor various projects taking place at some of the UK’s leading neurological institutions including King’s College London and Oxford University.  Additionally, through our Michelè Elster Fund, we help to improve the quality of life of people with MS.

Aims2Cure hold various events throughout the year and have to date raised over £1 million, something we could only have dreamt of when we started nearly 20 years ago. The charity consists of 13 voluntary members who are committed and passionate about this cause and are determined to find a cure.

In 2019 we are celebrating our 20 year anniversary and we are marking this by undertaking 20 fundraising events during this year and next. We are delighted that the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run is part of this program and we have a fantastic line up to follow. Please visit our website or our Facebook page(Aims2Cure) to find out more.

MS is a neurological disease affecting the ability of the nerves to transmit messages. This can affect many different nerves in the body such as those involved in walking properly, moving your arms or allowing you to see clearly. Some people have numbness and pins and needles. It can present in different ways in different people. It is a disease which can often start in young adults in their 20's and 30's when these people are having a family or building a career.

For some, over many years, there is a continuous worsening of the condition affecting their ability to walk without assistance or manage independently. Aims2Cure is passionate about helping scientists to find a cure as well as assisting those with the disease to improve their lives. This is why Aims2Cure is so motivated to find a cure or a treatment.

We are thrilled to be back at the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run for the 4th year running. We love taking part in this community wide event and hope you will support and help us run MS right out of town!
